Materials
- sunglasses
- small pearls
- alphabet beads
- Tacky glue
I found these mirrored heart-shaped sunglasses on sale at Claire's for $2, but you can use sunglasses you already own or buy new ones! The rest of the materials were leftover from previous projects, but you can easily buy them for cheap from your local craft store or online :) The estimated cost of all my materials, including the $2 sunglasses is $15.
Instructions
- Spell out your desired phrase using alphabet beads.
- Decide where you want to place the phrase (I chose to split my phrase across the two rims and center them)
- Apply a thin line of Tacky glue onto small sections of the rim of your sunglasses.
- Carefully place your letter beads onto the glue.
- Glue small pearl beads around the remaining area of your sunglasses.
- Repeat on the other side!
- Let dry for a least a few hours.
The beads have a tendency to slip a little once you glue them down, so keep checking your previous bead placements as you glue on more beads.
The process might take awhile, especially if you're using small beads, but it's totally worth it and doubles as the perfect time to listen to new music or blast some NSYNC if you're a 90s boy band enthusiast like me ;)
I love how simple yet eye-catching these sunglasses turned out! This would also be a really fun group DIY project for Day One of a bachelorette party so that the bride and her bridal party can wear their personalized sunnies for Day Two's beach adventure! Bridal party beach photoshoot anyone?
