Materials
- large piece of white fabric
- pencil
- freezer paper
- scissors
- X-acto
- iron
- acrylic or fabric paint
- paint brushes
Steps
- Cover the surface of your work area to protect it from potential paint spills.
- Spread out your piece of fabric and iron out any obvious wrinkles.
- Draw desired designs on the paper side of freezer paper (shiny side down)and cut them out with an X-acto.
*TIP* Fold your freezer paper in half before you cut out the stencil so you get two stencils instead of one. I cut out 18 individual monstera leaf stencils before I had this epiphany -___-
- Repeat until you have enough stencils.
- Iron your stencils onto your fabric, shiny side facing down.
- Use fabric paint or acrylic paint to fill in the stencil areas.
- Let the paint dry before peeling off the stencils.
- Hang your banner with (lots of) tape!
I also cut out letters from gold foil cardstock paper and created an easy banner using twine to hang across the backdrop :) The pictures don't capture how awesome the gold paper is :/ For another DIY freezer paper project tutorial, click here !
